CHAMPION CHIROPRACTIC • CORAL SPRINGS, FL
World Champion Powerlifter. Chiropractor. Still Breaking Records at 60.
Dr. Damian “Dr. D.” Fronzaglia brings more than four decades of competitive strength experience into every aspect of his chiropractic care. As a world champion, world-record holder and assistant coach for Team USA, he understands how the body moves, performs, recovers—and remains strong through every stage of life.
The Champion Behind Champion Chiropractic
Champion Chiropractic wasn’t given its name as a marketing exercise. Dr. Damian Fronzaglia has spent more than 40 years competing at the highest levels of strength sports—learning firsthand what it takes to build strength, recover from setbacks and continue performing as the body changes over time.
That experience shapes how Dr. D. approaches chiropractic care. He looks beyond the location of the pain to understand how movement, alignment, mobility and muscular balance work together. Whether someone is a competitive athlete, a weekend warrior or simply wants to move without pain, the goal remains the same: help the body function at its best.

How Powerlifting Shapes Dr. D.’s Approach to Chiropractic Care
Powerlifting has taught Dr. D. that pain and performance rarely involve just one area of the body. Strength, mobility, joint mechanics, movement patterns and recovery all work together. He brings that same whole-body perspective to every patient at Champion Chiropractic in Coral Springs.
Because he continues to train and compete, Dr. D. understands both the demands placed on athletes and the frustrations of anyone who simply wants to remain active. His approach focuses on identifying movement restrictions, improving function and helping patients return to the activities that matter to them.

Powerlifting, Sports Injuries and Chiropractic Care: FAQs
Why does my shoulder hurt when I benchpress?
Shoulder pain during bench pressing may involve training load, technique, mobility, joint irritation or tissues such as the rotator cuff, biceps tendon or AC joint. Because several problems can feel similar, a proper evaluation is more useful than guessing—or repeatedly “testing it” with another heavy set.
Should I keep lifting if I have shoulder or lower-back pain?
It depends on the cause and severity of the pain. You may be able to continue training with modified weight, volume or exercises, but sharp or worsening pain, weakness, numbness or changes in technique should not be ignored. Dr. D. can evaluate your movement and help determine what activity is appropriate.
What are the most common powerlifting injuries?
Powerlifters commonly experience problems involving the shoulders, lower back, elbows, hips and knees. These may include muscle strains, tendon irritation, joint pain and overuse injuries. The bench press, squat and deadlift each place different demands on the body, so treatment should be based on the individual lifter and injury—not a one-size-fits-all checklist.
My lower back has been tight for weeks after lifting, should I try a chiropractor?
Persistent tightness may result from overload, limited mobility, technique changes or compensation elsewhere in the body. If it has lasted for weeks, keeps returning or affects your lifting and daily movement, an evaluation is appropriate. Seek urgent medical care for severe symptoms such as progressive weakness, numbness in the groin area or loss of bladder or bowel control.
When should I see a chiropractor for a weightlifting or sports injury?
Consider an evaluation when pain or stiffness persists, repeatedly returns during training, limits movement or causes you to change your technique. Sudden severe pain, significant swelling, instability, weakness or neurological symptoms may require medical imaging or referral to another healthcare provider.
Can chiropractic care help with powerlifting and weightlifting injuries?
Chiropractic care may help address joint restrictions, mobility problems, muscular tension and movement patterns contributing to certain lifting injuries. At Champion Chiropractic, care is tailored to the individual and may include chiropractic adjustments, soft-tissue techniques and rehabilitation guidance. Dr. D. will also advise when another type of medical evaluation is needed.
Does Dr. D. work only with competitive powerlifters?
No. Dr. D. treats competitive athletes, recreational lifters, weekend warriors and people who simply want to move with less pain. His powerlifting experience gives him firsthand insight into strength, recovery and movement, but every treatment plan is based on the patient’s individual needs and goals.
